How to travel to Indonesia?

You’ll usually fly into Jakarta (CGK) first. From there, you can either start your journey through Java or take a domestic flight to another part of Indonesia. Another popular option is to fly via Kuala Lumpur (KUL), which often offers good connections to different Indonesian destinations.

To compare international flights year-round, we use this site to find the best deals. If you book in advance, you can often save a significant amount. For domestic flights, we prefer this site to make sure we get the most affordable options within Indonesia.

Explore Lombok, Indonesia, a rising destination for halal travel in Asia. With beautiful beaches, peaceful nature, and easy access to halal food, mosques, and Muslim-friendly accommodations, Lombok offers a comfortable and worry-free experience. From Mount Rinjani to the Gili Islands, enjoy a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure while staying true to your values. Discover halal-friendly Lombok for your next getaway.

How many days do I need in Indonesia?

This is a tricky question because your itinerary can be as short or as long as you want. If you want to see the main highlights, you’ll need at least 2 weeks. For a more complete Indonesia experience, 3 to 4 weeks is ideal. That is exactly how we got you covered with the itinerary below.

If you’re looking for a detailed ready-made 1, 2, or 3-week itinerary focused on Lombok, check out our Muslim friendly Lombok guide!

3 weeks itinerary Indonesia

  • Jakarta (Java) – 1 or 2 days
  • Yogjakarta (Java) – 4 days
  • Malang (Java) – 3 days
  • Bali – 6 days (or skip and go to Lombok)
  • Lombok – 7 days or more

You’ll can find free destination guides on our website, covering things to do, how to get around, and some of our favourite restaurants in each place. We’re still in the process of expanding these guides for different cities and regions.

For a more complete and structured experience, our Lombok travel guide goes much deeper. It includes detailed day-by-day itineraries, practical travel tips, hidden gems, the best beaches, and (kids friendly) activities — everything you need to save time and avoid figuring things out yourself.
